“Sad words are just another beauty. A sad story means, this storyteller is alive. The next thing you know something fine will happen to her, something marvelous, and then she will turn around and smile.”

ABOUT ME

Venessa Samuel-Steinmetz, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker | Psychodynamic Trauma Therapist

IMG_3333_edited_edited.jpg

I am a licensed clinical social worker, trauma therapist, leader, and scholar. I, like many of my fellow wounded healers, am not immune to the hardships of bearing witness to the pain and suffering of others.

Alchemy for the wounded healer is a guide to cultivating compassion towards your suffering and an invitation to rewrite the narratives of your trauma triggers. Alchemy is an internal process of transformation that taps into the infinite potential for rediscovering your joy.

The magnitude of  your healing is dependent on how deep into your wounds you are willing to go. â€‹You cannot control what you experience in life,  but you can control how you make meaning of them.

The narrative of the wounded healer isn’t just a story of pain and suffering but a story of hope, courage, and resilience.  As my grandmother would say, "Don't let good pain go to waste.
